I Was Rejected for $125/Month. Now One Client Pays Me $2,000

Updated 3 min readBy

I was once rejected by a company offering $125 per month for an intern role.

I went from chasing a 9-to-5 to earning $2,000 from a single client.

Honestly, I lost my confidence that day.

After grinding LeetCode and CodeChef for over a year, the interviewer asked me a Two Sum problem and some database questions. Even though I answered everything, the final verdict was still: rejected.

But somehow, I had to support my family. So I kept learning.

Choosing a Different Path

I made a difficult and uncertain decision: I would not pursue a job, even after graduating from a Tier-1 college.

I gave up on that path and started freelancing. That is where I got my first gig.

Freelancing slowly gave me my confidence back. Once I saw that I could solve real problems for real people, I started CombineApps.

Recently, I landed a $2,000 client—my biggest project so far.

What I Am Building Now

I want to share this journey honestly, including all the ups and downs.

I will write about deciding what to follow, choosing where to work, learning from mistakes and continuing when the next step is unclear.

Right now, I am:

  • running CombineApps
  • working on two other SaaS products
  • aiming to launch two apps on the Play Store

The Promise I Made to Myself

I was rejected for $125 per month.

I promise myself that I will earn $10,000 per month.

Always believe in yourself.

If one door closes, another opens.
